To All HKHDCA members,
I just want to remind everyone of some points about wet weather, standing water and damaging grounds.
Page 10 in the local rules, point 3.3 and 3.4 should be read.
Page 11 in the local rules, point 6.1.
On another note, I've been requested to remind all clubs, that any damage to pitches, run-ups or outfields due to it being unfit for play, may see council become more strict with their policies for use, which will effect all grounds.
Please everyone use common sense when assessing grounds conditions, as not only is it going to damage the ground, it could cause serious damage to individuals that find themselves slipping over, getting a knee stuck in the ground, or worse.
These following points are some things raised by council themselves, and I would advise to tell all club members, captains and committees.
1. The following points are intended as a guide only, as conditions vary from location to location due to variations in weather conditions, drainage, usage levels or individual sports. As a guide, training or play is likely to cause damage to the playing surface or sportground if they exhibit any of the following characteristics:
A. Surface water present
B. Water rises to the surface when walking across the surface
C. Surface is slippery to walk on, or the grass dislodges easily
D. Heavy and/or Constant rain occurs immediately prior or during training or play.
