 Denise Annetts, Inducted in to the NSW Hall of Fame by the Cricket NSW Chairman, Dr Harry Harinath OAM.


  • Inducted as Honorary Life Member of MCC in July 2017
  • Appointed as patron of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills District Cricket Association in 2006
  • Appointed as patron of HKHDCCA in June 2017
  • Blowfly Cricket Ambassador since 2014
  • On 23rd March 2012 was Inducted into the CNSW Hall of Fame
  • Made her 1st Grade debut for Gordon District Cricket Club at 14:
    • is a former President and now a Life Member
    • together with a small group, transitioned Mirrabooka Cricket Club to establish the Gordon District Women’s Cricket Club that is now fully affiliated with Gordon DCC
  • Captained NSW at 18
  • Played for Australia between 1985 and 1993
    • Holds the current world record 3rd wicket partnership of 309 playing against England
    •  Held a one time world record individual score of 193
    • Held the record for the fastest century in Women’s cricket – 102 balls vs England when matches were played on full sized Test grounds
    • Finished her Test career with 819 runs in 13 innings at an average of 81.9 – the second best Test average to Don Bradman in Men’s or Women’s cricket. It is also the highest Test batting average of any living male or female Test Cricketer
    • Played 43 ODIs for Australia and scored 1,126 runs @ 41.70
    • Hit the winning runs in the 1988 World Cup at the MCG in her score of 48*
    • In addition to these records she still holds many Australian batting records
    • Denise has also played at Lord’s and most of the major grounds around the world
  • Won the NSW Sportswoman of the Year in 1987 and was runner-up in the Australian Sportswoman of the Year in the same year
  • The Guinness Book of Records has identified her as one of the top 1,000 athletes of all time across all sports globally (Source: The Guinness International Who’s Who of Sport, 1993 pp 15)
  • Denise also has Level 1 & Level 2 Coaching qualifications with Cricket Australia
  • Finally, she has also coached her son Daniel’s West Pennant Hills CCC Junior team in the HK&HDCA from the U12s through to the U16s finishing in 2011.

Denise also played Hockey for NSW and was in the Australian Under 21 Hockey team before cricket became her main interest.

  • Managed the 2009/10 and 2010/11 NDCC Green Shield Teams.

HK&HDCA specific:

  • WPHCCC – Junior sides between 2006 to 2011
  • Coach of the 2007/08 Gee Shield Ballina carnival
  • HK&HDCA Umpires badge
  • Mentoring of Junior Rep players  

Other Community involvement:

  • Manager of the Asquith Magpies Rugby League sides between 2008 and 2012
  • Coach of Normanhurst-Warrawee junior Netball teams between 2012 and 2017, winning Coach of the Year in 2015

  • Denise is a pharmacist who has 3 children (Daniel, John and Jessica)
  • Denise went to school at Abbotsleigh and was School Vice Captain
