Denise Annetts, Former International Player

 Denise Annetts, Inducted in to the NSW Hall of Fame by the Cricket NSW Chairman, Dr Harry Harinath OAM.


    • Inducted as an Honorary Cricket Member of the Melbourne Cricket Club in February 2019
    • Inducted as Honorary Life Member of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in July 2017
    • Appointed as Patron of HKHDCCA in June 2017
    • Blowfly Cricket Ambassador since 2014
    • Appointed Patron of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills District Cricket Association in 2006
    • Inducted into the CNSW Hall of Fame (23 March 2012)
    • Gordon District Cricket Club:
      • Transitioned the Mirrabooka Cricket Club into the Gordon District Women’s Cricket Club and then through to affiliation with Gordon DCC which started the integration of Men’s & Women’s cricket Clubs
      • made her 1st Grade debut at 14

    • Captained NSW at 18
    • Played for Australia between 1985 and 1993
      • Holds the current word record partnership of 309 for the 3rd wicket Vs England
      • Held a one-time world record individual score of 193
      • Held the record for the fastest century in Women’s cricket – (102 balls Vs England at Lancaster Park, Christchurch) when matches were played on full sized Test grounds
      • Hit the winning runs in the 1988 World Cup in her score of 48* at the MCG
      • Finished her Test career with 819 runs in 13 innings at an average of 81.9 – the second best Test average to Don Bradman in either Men’s or Women’s cricket
      • Played 43 ODIs for Australia and scored 1,126 runs @ 41.70
      • In addition to these records she still holds many Australian batting records
      • Denise has also played at Lord’s and most of the major grounds around the world
    • Won the NSW Sportswoman of the Year in 1987 and was runner-up in the Australian Sportswoman of the Year also in 1987
    • The Guinness Book of Records has identified her as one of the top 1,000 athletes of all time across all sports globally (Source: The Guinness International Who’s Who of Sport, 1993 pp 15)
    • Denise also has Level 1 & Level 2 Coaching qualifications with Cricket Australia
    • She has also coached her son Daniel’s West Pennant Hills CCC Junior team in the HK&HDCA from the U12s through to the U16s finishing in 2011.


    Denise also played Hockey for NSW and was in the Australian Under 21 Hockey team before cricket became her main interest.

    • Manager of the Asquith Magpies Rugby League sides between 2008 and 2012
    • Coach of Normanhurst-Warrawee junior Netball teams between 2012 and 2017, winning Coach of the Year in 2015

    • Denise is a pharmacist who has 3 children (Daniel, John and Jessica)
