Hornsby council do not close grounds with synthetic turf wickets during the summer season. Ground closures are left at the discretion of the association and clubs. For Hornsby cricket grounds with turf wickets, a decision is to be made by the ground curator by 10am on the day of the scheduled game. For Ku-ring-gai turf wickets, if the wicket is prepared by Friday, cancelling play will be left to the association.

For the 2020/21 season preliminary rounds, clubs have been allocated to the following grounds
Teams are responsible for putting down covers on Friday night and the removal of covers on Saturday morning.
Where there is no inclement weather on the Saturday, covers are to be removed by 8:30am.
The co-ordination and communication of covers will be on the HKHDCA covers whats app group.
